Workshop2017B::Strip Construction of Ruled-based Design

The exhibition  presents self-supporting minimal surface structures using strips morphologies and joining systems. Unexpectedly complex outcomes emerge through the repetition of identical components transformed based on simple rules. The geometries are generated using algorithmic processes inspired by principles of self-organization, while at the same time taking into consideration all the necessary parameters of digital fabrication.

Computational tools require new ways of thinking, especially for fabrication. New methods and construction processes of a coherent design methodology from concept to realization: Modeling, manufacturing, assembling are going to be presented within current and previously constructed projects.
